We the people pay for a wide variety of social programs from streets to the military. If you trust our government to handle these then why shouldn't health care be a basic service provided for the good of all? Most conservative Christians I know support the military without question. Our military has done none thing but attack and try to pit every other country against each other for our benefit.

Further more I would say paying for health care is even more important the killing people in other lands. My faith and conscience requires me to help others not kill them so as a follower of Christ I choose health care over the war in Iraq. As a Christian I choose life over death.

As a Christian I choose to see other people as not inherently evil. When Jesus met the woman at the well every one else thought she was a Samaritan, unclean, living in sin with a man not her husband. Yet Jesus saw the person and reached out to her regardless of past sin or people group she belonged to.

advertising keywords gone wrong

While trying to find information on Budget rent a truck I found this on a complaints site, advertising keywords gone wrong.

Budget Truck Rental Fraud

Budget Truck Rental not so Budget

Trying to rent a truck for moving should be something that is done easily, after all I have rented cars with little or no trouble in the past.

My first experience was with Penske who promised me a truck at 9am, then 10 am, then 11 am but still no truck. So I am now half way through moving day with no truck to actually move with. My next stop was Budget truck rental which had no trucks. They referred me to another Budget rental center that was actually a citgo gas station with no gas pumps and a waiting area unable to hold more than 3 people at a time. I had a bad feeling about it when there was a sign that said we are just trying to make a living if you don't like it go somewhere else. I needed a truck so I went forward with the rental.

After returning the truck I get a call a couple days later saying the gas tank is not full and that they are going to charge a labor fee of $30 plus the cost of gas. This is strange because I filled it up before I dropped off the truck. So I look at my credit card statement and see a charge of $31.08 for gas from Budget. They charged me the $30 because I used $1.08 worth of gas driving from the gas station to the citgo.

When I complained to the citgo attendant he pulled out the contract that said the tank needed to be full. I doubt I could have used one dollar worth of gas getting there from the gas station. It seems to me that the $30 dollars is probably pure profit for the citgo station and they charge it on every truck that comes out of there.

Next time I have to rent a truck you can be assured it will not be from budget, I wrote a letter to the budget main office and I will reserve final judgement until they respond.

Why should I have to pay for your police and fireman?

People in this country need to take more personal responsibility and stop relying on the government to fix everything. I mean if you did not take the time to invest in fire prevention or get your permit to carry a gun for protection why should I have to pay to protect you or pay to put the fire out in your house out. You should have prepared for that possibility and if you didn't tough luck.

These bleeding heart liberals just do not understand what motivates people. If you provide protection from fire and criminals what reason does anyone have to work? You can stay at home and rest assured that I am paying for your protection.

As we offer "protection for all" we move one step closer to becoming a socialist / communist country. Similar to Russia our people will become unmotivated and our entire way of life will collapse.

Fedex ground is the worst company ever

I have only shipped 3 things with them and they have managed to screw up 4 times. The worst part about it is most sites the use shipper as proof of delivery. So when the drivers do things like forge signatures and you go back to the original company there is not much you can do.

Talking to customer service is like banging your head into wall, they told me I had one option. That option is that I am basically screwed.

Incident 1. They deliver 13 thousand dollars worth of company servers to a grassy in the middle of the city instead of actually bring it to our building and letting us know. It was only by luck an employee drove by and commented that there are a bunch of dell boxes siting across the street in the grass.

Incident 2. When confronted about why they delivered 13 k of equipment that required a signature they faxed us a signature that was not in cursive and had the persons name spelled wrong. Coincidentally it was spelled the same as what was written on the package. This means the driver forged the signature because he did not want to waste time.

Incident 3. We were not shipping or receiving anything, we received dell boxes. Everything from laptops to flat screen monitors addressed to another company at a different address. Which they left in our lobby which was also labeled signature required.

Incident 4. I bought a piece of equipment for home use and the company did not label what shipper they used. They shipped it via FedEx ground. I work all day so they missed me and left a note on the door (which is ironic considering they leave thousands of dollars of equipment in the wrong place but they can not leave a $20 wifi card at my door).

I call them and ask what my options are I work all day so I think I have 3 real options, pick it up, change the address to work or fax proof of identity and authorize them to leave it. They give me a different set options, drive over an hour to the FedEx center and pick it up or take a vacation day and wait at home.

Neither of these are acceptable so I ask to speak to a supervisor which she refuses to do. After saying that these options were unacceptable repeatedly they finally offered to send it back to the manufacturer so it could be shipped using a different method.

Stay far away from FedEx they need to get better customer service and train their drivers better. These incidents have taken place over 8 years so I doubt they will ever change but who knows.

Would you do business with someone who is openly gay?

I work for a Christian company that is currently denying service to organizations that actively support homosexual activity. I am conflicted about it because we do business with non-Christians every day what is so special about homosexual sinners that earns them a special denial?

It would be one thing if you only did business with Christians but they hire non-Christian to fix the air conditioning, they rent offices to a non Christian lawyer, they sold products to a major publishing company. What is so special about homosexuals?

I was quoted that the bible specifically says homosexuals will not go to heaven and they are an abomination. Doing research every passage in the new testament clumps homosexuals with other sinners (thieves, adulterers, idolaters) and yet we do not ask if they worship a false god or if they are having an affair?

What is so special about homosexuals that makes them so much worse than other sinners? Would you do business with someone who is an openly gay?

Homosexuals with Guns and Tax Collectors with Pink Mohawks

I sometimes get angry at my fellow Christian because of the way they treat people and that by association my beliefs are perverted. One thing that always astounds me is the need to stop non-Christians from sinning, such as preventing homosexuals from getting married. Are they not sinners by definition? How does them getting married hurt me? When Rome and the Jews persecuted, killed and imprisoned Christians what did the founders of the church do? What did Paul do? Was he concerned about helping people and telling them about the teachings of Jesus or try to lobby for the temple prostitutes to be outlawed.

I don't have all the answers but watching the way Jesus dealt with tax collectors and prostitutes in the new testament it seems a far cry from the way modern Christians treat sinners. We need to show Gods love to them first, any sinful actions if they are sinful will be changed when the sinners heart becomes something new.

Obama so Fresh and so Clean

I have heard this over and over that the President is waisting his political capital on health care reform. As one of the few modern democratic countries that do not provide this for its citizens this is exactly what he should be spending his political capital on.

Obama has summed up this up in one statement . "People live one accident away from bankruptcy"

"I will not waste time with those who have made the calculation that it's better politics to kill this plan than improve it. I will not stand by while the special interests use the same old tactics to keep things exactly the way they are."

I urge all Christians to support Obama in providing health care reform we need to not just say "WWJD" but demonstrate what "WWJD" and yes Jesus would heal and help those that are sick. Put aside our differences on abortion and war and unite on this good cause. "No money for abortion and no repeal of conscience laws"

God can use even someone who supports something so awful as abortion or the war in iraq. We need to put aside those things we disagree on and move forward on the things that we can.

Focus on the family is trying kill health care.

I just received a forward from someone with a link to the focus on the family website saying that the national health care plan endangers the pre-born.

Really? Does anyone actually believe that because an abortion costs 300 dollars people are going to decide to go through with it because it is covered by insurance???

I do not believe in abortion but I can not fathom why they would make this an issue with health care. They use phrases like "set the pro-life movement back decades" and "an increase in abortions the like of which has not been seen since row vs wade".

This just seems absurd as long as abortion is legal people will have it done. I don't care how poor you are you can come up with 300 dollars, or use one of the many aid agencies out there that help woman pay for it.

This just seems like a stall and scare tactic they use to try to prevent people who actually need health care, the unemployed from actually getting it.

Death Penalty to the Amish

I was talking to one of my Christian friends who had a cousin that was attacked and abused. He said that the person who did it should "fry in the chair". It reminded me of a story a while back in which a young kid hit and killed a whole family of Amish people. The only one in the buggy to survive was the father and son. The mother and all the remaining children were killed.

To normal people forgiving the high school student that took away your entire family would seem too much to ask, yet this Amish farmer went out of his way to get the charges dropped against this kid. Every year the kid who is now married and has children of his own returns to the Amish farmers house where they have dinner together.

There was another example of this in the Amish school house shootings in which they urged the public to forgive the man that had committed such a horrible crime. Evening looking at the story of Jesus in the bible someone who came to help people was put to death by the very people he was trying to help. His last dieing act was to forgive the people that had committed this crime.

Why are evangelical Christians so filled with hate instead of forgiveness when the most important figure in their bible forgave what seems to be unforgivable.

Which is more valuable a baby or a jew.

Every day I am surrounded by Christians that say there is a holocaust going on in our country. So I ask them if you were alive during Nazi Germany and had the chance would you have killed Hitler to prevent the death of 6 million Jews? They always answer without hesitation YES. When it comes to abortion something they see as murder it is a different story. They not out trying to kill abortion doctors so the question is, is a Jewish life in Nazi Germany more valuable than an American baby?

Abortion doctors are not hard to get to they do not have the protection of secret service or armed guards. Each one according to you kills thousands of children over their life span as a doctor. Over one million a year in the united states alone are aborted.

Why are you not on a roof or planting a bomb?

Declare your support for healthcare

I find it absurd we live in a modern country and fail to provide universal health care to all of our citizens. Every other modern country provides this service and most have better health care then the US.

Yet after talking with co-workers (mostly republican) they have nothing but negative things to say about it. Republicans are masters of scare tactics, it will cost too much, we will all become communists, no one will have to work if they provide health care. All of this will result in the total demise of our way of life in the US. With all of this hate mongering and fear I think there is a good chance this plan is dead on arrival.

Estimated cost of the health care plan it 60 billion and in a world where we spend 500+ billion on ways to kill people this does not seem like a large price tag.

To quote Obama "a better opportunity to remake the nation's health care system may not arise for generations."
  • Reduce Costs — Rising health care costs are crushing the budgets of governments, businesses, individuals and families and they must be brought under control
  • Guarantee Choice — Every American must have the freedom to choose their plan and doctor – including the choice of a public insurance option
  • Ensure Quality Care for All — All Americans must have quality and affordable health care
